McClusky Canal
Non-routine operation and maintenance work at McClusky includes "V"drain installation, erosion control on the canal (beachbelting) and slide repair and prevention.
Major slides have occurred on the McClusky Canal between Mile Markers 20-21, and an evaluation is being performed by the District, Houston/Arman Engineering, and United States Bureau of Reclamation to determine the best method of repair. A drilling program was completed in the summer of 2000, and it is presently being evaluated. A value engineering study will be conducted early in 2001 to determine feasible alternatives to repair these slides and alleviate this problem in the future.
